Read: Esther 3:1-4:17
Perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this. Esther 4:14
Esther is made queen and given access to the king that few people had. The problem is (as we learned from the situation with the first queen), the king can be finicky and talking out of line can lead to banishment or even death for Esther.
The line of David and the promise of God to his people is in jeopardy. If the Persians wipe out the Jews – check mate, game over. So Mordecai calls Esther to rise to the occasion, to embrace her destiny, to risk it all for the sake of her people and for the Kingdom of God.
“Perhaps I was made for just such a time as this,” is a question that every one of us needs to be asking of ourselves and challenging fellow Christians with. The truth is, you were born when and where you were, for a reason. You have been given not only skills, talents and experiences, but like Esther, access to specific people, for a reason. You have influence and God wants you to use it for the sake of His Kingdom and for the sake of people.
Like in Esther’s situation, there will always be risk involved in stepping out, speaking up and challenging the status quo. But remember, you were born for such a time as this. God is with you!!! Pray, fast, even get others praying and fasting for you and then go for it!!!
Your life is richer than you know with purpose and destiny.
God, give me eyes to see the opportunities You have prepared in advance for me to shine Your light and make a difference. Help me to live in the reality that You made me for this time and place. Don’t let me settle for safety and miss Your destiny for my life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
