Read: Isaiah 52:13-53:12
When he sees all that is accomplished by his anguish, he will be satisfied. And because of his experience, my righteous servant will make it possible for many to be counted righteous for he will bear all their sins.
The prophet Isaiah predicts the coming of the Messiah, the rescuer, the holy one of God, who would come as a suffering servant to literally “bear all their sins” and make people righteous or right with God. What makes this so extraordinary is that as you read this whole passage, he describes in intricate detail Jesus, the events surrounding His death, and the meaning of His sacrifice. And he wrote all this down 700 years before Jesus was born.
Jesus fulfilled literally hundreds of prophecies from the Old Testament, but this one from Isaiah is stunning, and overwhelming. That God would send His chosen one to suffer, be beaten beyond recognition, and sacrificed so that people could be made right with God once more. Jesus was the one who was to come, and He accomplished the salvation of mankind. You couldn’t make this up if you tried, and you certainly couldn’t predict it down to the details that the prophet does here hundreds of years in advance. Oh how He loves us!! How He loves us Oh!!
Jesus thank you for dying in my place… Thank you for proving you were who you said you were through the fulfillment of prophecy and your resurrection from the dead. And thank you for making me right with God, adopting me into God’s family, and saving my soul. I love you so much… In Jesus’ Name, Amen
