This is a time designed to allow parents who have children with special needs and their siblings to simply take a break. Parents do not need to be members or regular attenders of the Vineyard Church. This is a FREE event open to the entire community. We simply want parents to get the needed rest and relaxation they deserve, while knowing their children are being cared for.

Respite night is open to children with special needs and their siblings. We have trained volunteers who have a strong desire to work with children with special needs. Each child is paired with a buddy. On most occasions this is one on one, but there are times with siblings or children who are higher functioning, that two children might be paired with a buddy. There are also nurses present in order to meet any unique medical needs or distribute scheduled medications.

Registration must be completed 3 days prior to the respite in order for adequate staffing to be present. If registration occurs with less than 3 days notice, it may still be possible to participate if we have additional staff available, but you are not guaranteed a spot. There is a limit on the amount of children that can sign up, so the earlier you register the better!

Respite Night is designed for children to be safe and have fun. We look forward to meeting you and your children!

Expressing God’s Extravagant Love Within the Special Needs Community

Individuals and families affected by special needs are a vital part of the Vineyard Church. Through inclusive and specialized environments, Adventure Zone helps those with special needs fully engage, with support and accommodations, in the life of the church. Their families and friends are given the freedom to attend worship services to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ knowing that their loved ones are also being included in a safe and Christ-centered experience.

How does the Vineyard Church Adventure Zone partner with families?

During the 6:00 pm service on Saturday, a specialized discipleship environment is provided for students with physical and/or developmental disabilities. With inclusion support, or the support of an individual buddy, students can participate in the group settings of Adventure Kids (0-Grade 5).

Also during the 6:00 pm Saturday services, Adventure Zone provides a specialized discipleship environment in room 203 for children with significant physical and/or developmental challenges.

Throughout the year, Adventure Zone events will be organized to promote community within the church where families can have fun and meaningful social interaction, as well as networking opportunities.
