A 99 percent service rating is generally considered an exceptional achievement, but in some cases 99 percent isn’t good enough. At 99 percent, doctors and nurses would drop over 15,000 newborns every year. At 99 percent, pharmacies would send 20,000 people out the door with the wrong medications. At 99 percent, we would suffer more than 500 incorrect surgical procedures per week.
Ninety-nine percent might be an outstanding achievement if we’re talking about Happy Meals or coffee filters, but when it comes to life issues it’s not enough, especially if you find yourself in that doomed one percent.
Quality assurance will never find perfection. The human element shadows every process and product with a reasonable doubt. Recalls, re-design, re-engineering, and replacement are all part of our striving for unreachable perfection.
Yet, there is one Provider who never falls short of one hundred percent. His promises are absolute. His gifts are perfect. His delivery is timely. His track record is impeccable, and He only stocks the best. With God, ninety-nine is never enough.
