When and where is this event taking place?
Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Wheeling Park in Wheeling, WV
What is the Easter Extreme?
This is a FREE family event, complete with bounce houses, pony rides, face painting, carnival games, an egg scramble, an art station, and MORE! It’s a great time for families to spend a fun day together!
What time should I arrive?
The “Egg Scrambles” are scheduled for 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, and 1:30 pm. To keep parking and people movement running smoothly, we’re asking families to choose a time slot… 11:00-12:00, 12:00-1:00, or 1:00-2:00 pm. An hour should be plenty of time for family fun!
How much does it cost to participate?
Not a penny. Completely free. Nothing. Nada. Zilch.
Just come and enjoy some time with your kids!
Kids will receive activity tickets at the registration tent to use for game play, bounce houses, face painting, and carnival games.
Is there something for all my kids?
Yes! Activities and games will be available for all ages, and for kids with special needs.
Will there be food available?
The Wheeling Park concession stand will be open inside the White Palace.
Can I participate with my child?
Parents of littles are welcome to participate in the Egg Scramble with their children. You can also help them play games, participate in the art station together, and take lots and lots of pictures!
Will there be candy or prizes?
Some of both! Each child will receive a prize bag filled with surprises!
How is this going to work, exactly?
You’ll arrive at your chosen time (11:00, 12:00, or 1:00) and head to the White Palace for registration. Your kids will receive their goody bags and activity tickets at registration. You can make your way around the park to the various activities – bounce houses, face painting, carnival games, pony rides, art station, etc. – until your “Egg Scramble” time.
You and your kids should be at an egg field at scramble time. They’ll collect eggs (and you’ll take pictures!), and turn in their eggs in exchange for a prize. If there are any activities that you missed before the scramble, feel free to pick up where you left off!
Why can’t my child keep the eggs they hunt?
If it means the difference between a meltdown and the greatest day ever, we have no problem with kids keeping a few eggs. Every year, we host about 3000 kids… if everyone kept their eggs, we wouldn’t be able to sustain such a fun event!
What if it rains? Or snows?
We’ll be there – rain or shine or snow (but we’re sure praying for shine!)!
What if my child gets lost?
We’ll have a great safety team on site and a PA system for communication. Lost children (and/or lost parents) can report to the Easter bunny for help.
What if I can’t print my registration page?
No need to print your registration page. Simply check your kids in at registration when you arrive, we’ll give your kids their goody bags and activity tickets, and you’ll be on your way. Easy peasy.
My child has an allergy – will there be allergy free candy bags?
We have a limited number of non-food goody bags for kids with food allergies. If you pre-registered and indicated that you needed a non-food goody bag, please let them know when you check in. If you did not pre-register for a non-food goody bag, there will be a limited number available on a first-come, first-served basis. Please ask if there are any available when you register at the park.
