E.M. Bounds made a statement to the effect that when God’s house on earth is filled with prayer, God’s house in heaven gets busy.
Have you ever thought of what your prayers cause in heaven? Are angels dispatched as we pray? Is provision set in motion when we intercede? Are circumstances manipulated when we pray for a lost son or daughter? Does Satan cringe under the blows of our prayers? Do our prayers live forever before God? When we have forgotten, does God still remember? What happened in heaven when D.L. Moody prayed? Were demonic forces not put to flight? Did not whole cities experience the power of God? A sincere prayer is more powerful than the whole of the United Nations.
Nothing significant has ever been affected for the Kingdom of God unless prayer was in the vanguard. No time will be better spent today than the time you spend in prayer. Is heaven busy on your account this morning? Are angels rising to put the adversary to flight? Is the curtain of gloom parting as you call on the incomparable name of Jesus?
We must never forget that what we see on earth can be, and will be, marked by our prayers – or their absence.
