Read:  Psalm 121:1-8

My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth! He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber.  Psalm 121:2-3

The LORD keeps you from all harm and watches over your life. The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.  Psalm 121:7-8

The people of Israel would sing this song on their pilgrimage to Jerusalem reminding themselves of where their hope lies.

The people of God had known tremendous hardship as well as great triumph. Regardless of blessing or struggle this Psalm rings true. God is our hope. The One who made everything is certainly powerful enough to take care of us. He watches over our lives now and forever.

Vs. 1&2 and 7&8 are worth memorizing. There will be times in life when these scriptures don’t seem to be the case. Where things are just hard and you wonder if God is really there. In those times it’s important to know who God is and what He promises. In those times we must stand in faith on God’s promises and on His character.

God – Thank you that I can count on you now and forever. Thank you that you watch over me day and night, and even when the hard things come you are there carrying me through. Thank you that you are powerful enough to triumph over every situation I might face. Thank you for being my hope… In Jesus’ name, amen.
